chart of user flows tracking users interacting with menu labelsFor those wondering what we've been up to...August has been spent concentrating on the skeleton of the site:

  • iterating through ideas for the new site maps and wireframes with Digital Pulp...
  • tree testing with ~140 members of the campus community...
  • building primitive prototypes of the navigation proposals and setting up a table in Frist to observe as students, graduate students and alumni explored it in attempts to meet common tasks...and interviewing them about how it could best meet their needs (or would have when they were prospective students)...
  • poring over the data and recommending changes for the next iteration.

Next up will be another round of more detailed wireframes and a pivot into early design concepts...followed by lots more user testing into the fall.
